Each year Kazakhstan orphanages are faced with the same desperate needs - new furniture, money for renovations, new laundry facilities and new clothes. In addition to the highly successful Playground of Hope that was built by a 2006 appeal to Gladney families, Gladney responded to Kazakhstan's appeal for donations honoring International Children's with a $4,000 contribution made possible by Gladney donors. The funding was sent to four orphanages in regions where we currently work to place children with our adoptive families through our growing Kazakhstan program - one in Pavlodar, one in Petropavlovsk, and two in Uralsk.

Gladney's Brighter Futures for Children Fund provides an international children's aid framework for advancing our mission through donor-supported programs — to improve the lives of these at-risk children and help alleviate disturbing orphanage conditions in Asia, Eastern Europe, Africa and Latin America - all the countries where Gladney currently has established relationships.
