The Saturday before Mother's Day is not a holiday marked on most calendars, nor is it one in which you can easily find a greeting card. It is not a holiday recognized by general society.

It is Birthmother's Day.

After their own child has come home, many adoptive parents feel a deep desire to do more for the children they saw in orphanages that were left behind. Those little faces leave an indelible mark that can't be ignored.
